ALOO TIKKI

**Ingredients:**

– 4 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled, and mashed
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
– 1 teaspoon ginger paste
– 1 teaspoon garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1 teaspoon ground coriander
– ½ teaspoon Garam Masala
– 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
– Salt to taste
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

**For coating:**

– ½ cup bread crumbs
– 1 egg, lightly beaten (optional, for a crispy texture)

**Instructions:**

1. In a bowl, mix the boiled and mashed potatoes with the chopped onions, green chilies (if using), ginger paste, garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, Garam Masala, chopped coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

2. Shape the potato mixture into small flat patties and place them on a plate.

3. If desired, you can dip the patties in beaten egg and then coat them with bread crumbs to achieve a crispy crust.

4. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the patties in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. This will take about 3-4 minutes per side.

5. Place the fried Alu Ki Tikkis on kitchen paper to drain excess oil.

6. Serve the hot Alu Ki Tikkis with chutney or yogurt sauce as a side dish.
